Vocabulary for this lesson:
Equations: Two numbers that are equal in value.
Variable: Any letter that represents a number and can vary.
Inverse Operation: The opposite to both sides of the equation.
Ok, now I can start.
The way to solve the equations is to find out what the variable represents (letter to number).
Example:
3 + x = 7 (you have to find out what X is)
Remember, if you are adding you will now do the opposite, subtract. This is the same if you multiply you will divide.
Now here is how to solve:
3 + x = 7
- 3 - 3
x = 4
Double Check Your Answer:
1.) Rewrite Equation
2.) Put in the number & answer you came up with for your variable
3.) Simplify the equation
4.) Your answers should match
3 + x = 7
3 + 4 = 7
7 = 7
Answer: X = 4

Great job with your explanation. The only thing I would change is your definition of equation. And equation is 2 equivalent expressions separated by an equal sign.
